Game Brainstorm

 Game Brainstorm

Idea No.1

A 3d Endless Running Videogame.

Name: Lucid

For this idea, I'm looking to create a 3d or possibly 2d endless running videogame. This game will be comprised of a goal, with collectables along the way to reach your destination. A great example of one of these games was the hit app "Temple Run".

My idea is a little bit different as I would like it to take place in this Vaporwave themed world with some good music in the background.
Although it might not turn out as polished as "Temple Run" this style of games has still persevered in the app community.

I'd love for the game to have a trippy sort of feel to it, I thought a game like this would be interesting if it had the aesthetic as the "No Straight Roads" "Eve" fight, which featured abstract visuals.

Here are some picture's of that segment from "No Straight Roads"

The goal would be to collect enough currency to get the next power-up. Maybe I would like to tell a story with the Idea of this game. Such as being trapped in a dream or a nightmare. Then it would add a bit of intrigue to the story. Such as are the visuals part of the story and what do they represent. This can drive players to an end goal of figuring out the story, with each power-up adding to the narrative.

Idea No.2

Name: Heart and Soul
(The strike is supposed to be there)

A visual simulator/story simulator
I'm personally a fan of parody dating sims such as "Monster Prom" and "Dream Daddy" so I feel like I'm a little more familiar with this type of game. These games are mainly text-based with some added elements of choice. These are similar to the likes of what I had tried to make in first year. However, hopefully I can add some unique visuals to the idea.

With this Idea, I would like to try and create a good story and put effort into the design of the game.
Creating the characters and the story would be just as fun as making the game and the designs.

I decided that the idea was going to be about you taking a journey into a strange new town that has an odd group of people, some of them who are clearly not human.
What you've happened to stumble into is a town on the border between life and death, were many types of spirits and monsters live (I took a bit of inspiration from "Monster Prom" here). Looks like the only way to leave is to convince one of them to not eat you.

Idea No.3

Name: Halcyon

A side scroller fighting game/2d platformer

Side scroller fighting games are common among the app store. This idea can also be used without the fighting element but just the side-scrolling movement, such as the old Mario Bros. games had. What I would need is a basic premise, a goal, several levels, and obstacles set up.

This one seems like it might be an easier option but it's unknown how long it could actually take to make. Sprites for this can be made in a sprite maker, the objects and the background as well

Underneath here is a tutorial for making a 2d platformer.
With this, we can also add in the fighting elements with sprite animations, although it isn't needed.
I want the game to have a calming Lo-fi theme with fun, relaxing gameplay.

Idea No.4

Name: College Zombie breakout.

A simulator game.

My first idea was a zombie simulator for this game, but as time goes on the idea is up for change. My idea is a basic Zombie simulator in a 3d platform. This idea will have a basic styled landscape with several tasks as it goes from a normal day as the tutorial to the next day being the Zombie outbreak.

You have to collect items, do quests to gather people for your base and those people will provide materials to help build a stronger base. It would be fun to give these people some backstories and have it set in an unconventional place like in the game "Dead Island" where the zombie outbreak takes place in an island resort.

I might like to have the game take place on a college campus since there's a lot of room for exploration without it being too cliche like a high school. I'm also thinking about the possibility of a Disney land like place.

  2. Hi Enoh! I really like your ideas, I feel like you're implementing your own uniqueness within your game ideas which I really want to see done in the future. I feel like the 3d endless runner will be the easiest option. I was just wondering how are you going to implement 3d style into your second game idea? I really like those story based games but I don't know if it will fit into the whole 3d thing. Maybe a slight suggestion would be to make the characters 3d and the background 2d? That would be a fun idea although I'm not sure how difficult and time consuming that would be. I feel like your first idea is extremely fun and you could add different levels with a different background vibe? Maybe a different nightmare the player gets sucked into? Anyway I really enjoyed reading about your game ideas and I'm looking forward to seeing your project come to life! -Anna
