Prototype
Prototype
I have begun to start my Prototype of Lucid. I have acquired the assets I would wish to use so far. They include character models, scenes, and collectables.

In the above image, we have the model for the player character "Self". Unlike in my previous game information updates, as you can see the character model is a girl. Unfortunately, when looking for free character models that seemed androgynous, I was unable to find anything. As this is just my first game I would rather stick to playability rather than idea accuracy.
I was also able to implement the in-game collectable of the heart-shaped diamond. I have many options for the assets to the heart-shaped diamond which will be good for each level as I would like for each demon to have different level collectables.
So far both of these assets are functioning well and can actually move.

So far my issues include track placement and script coding.
My track is broken into little sections that need to be placed in the right order when opening the scene. This was at first very difficult but it's easier when I have enough time to do it.
The script that I need to implement will take a bit of time as for reference I will need to use part of lessons I have already learned which will be easier to follow.
Hi Enoh! I'm loving the look of your game already it looks way better than mine I'm actually mind blown. Will you be adding any trees or anything to make the environment stand out more? I think that would be a good idea! I love the way the hearts look I think it fits the game perfectly. Is it just going to be a straight pathway or are you going to make it a little curved? I wouldn't change anything anyway I can't wait to play when you get it finished. Have you figured out the movements for the character or was that already implemented with the asset? - Anna Zurawska
ReplyDeleteHi Enoh your game looks great so far ! I also like the layout of your blog. Back to the game you said that the player can go left and right is the player also able to jump ? I also found writing the scripts difficult even after doing all of the unity I found it hard. I like the heart shape in your game. Just wondering do you have a name for your game? Perhaps queen of hearts? Are you going to put in any other objects such as other boats along the river or tress in the environment I think would look good within your game. Best of luck with your game, hope it works out-Niamh
ReplyDeleteHi Enoh, I really like the images you included of your game in the blog post, your assets look so nice and colourful, I too had some difficulty finding the accurate assets for my game but as you said I don't think it should matter if the game is good :) I like your idea of each level having different collectibles, makes it more interesting for the player. I hope working on your script wont be too troublesome for you and the tutorials definitely helped me when I was stuck designing my game, I'm excited to see how your game turns out in the end :)
ReplyDeleteHey Enooooh~
ReplyDeleteHow are you?
Your game looks so good and I also think that the assets you picked really suits your game! The player you picked is also pretty even though she looks like a student, I still think that having a different character that are different from the surrounding location is still okay because if you will be able to work everything, you can add another character to give the players choices. Adding the "boss" could really give a thrill at the end of the game.
I also don't think that you should change anything as you are still not done doing the main things in your game, I don't think more suggestions needed~ I hope you're enjoying making your game too!
Hey Enoh, Your games looks amazing!! I think the assets you picked are perfect for your game they remind me of sonic. I wonder how your game will look when its finished because right now its look amazing I really like how it looks. What if you added more islands in the background to make the cinerary in the game stand out a bit more. I think you've made great progress and I cant wait to see how it turns out, Best of Luck !!!
ReplyDeleteHey Enoh, i have to admit im really impressed with the first prototype of your game "lucid" it looks fantastic. i see you have complied and organised all the assets that you will be using.you seem to have a strong direction of where your game going and you have good rage of game mechanics in place, Have you tired using youtube to help with some of the coding? fantastic progress so far and looking forward to seeing the progress of your game
ReplyDeleteHey Enoh, I have to say that your game looks unreal and I'm really impressed, jesus!!!
ReplyDeleteLucid is a really cool name also, where'd you get the idea to call your game that. The assets you picked for the game all seem to look like they work well together, and they do really remind me of sonic, I used to play that all the time!!! It's crazy to think about what your game looks like now, I can't imagine what it will look like when it's completely finished. I think you should add random islands or objects off the track, just so it's not just the running trail. Can't wait to see what the final product looks like , Good Luck!!!
